About
My desk used to be a cluttered one with two CRT monitors, one of them being an old 14" piece of trash that was serving as a secondary display... I usually had nothing on it except the TeamSpeak client running all day long. As all "good" things come to an end, so did that very same monitor start emitting strange burning plastic smells as the screen presented some very hippie like rainbow shapes... It was dead. Needless to say, I eventually got a much larger LCD display to replace both of those power hungry beasts. Even though I thought my problems were solved, a new one quickly caught my attention.Although I had enough pixel room for virtually any job, the fact that I had to repeatedly check for new TeamSpeak messages (private or public) was getting to me. I also had a hard time recognizing the voice of 10 different people in the same room without having to restore the TS Client and check out everybody's nickname for myself.
And so it began...
I coded a quick application using the TeamSpeak API to display the current speaker, and eventually just kept adding more and more features until I got to the point where I can share it with other people. The simple name "TeamSpeak Extra" is what I called it, as it should be easy to recognize.
I hope you enjoy my application as much as I enjoyed/cried while making it. Thanks for reading.
Sincerely,
Me.
